6 ways to let your creativity out

I don’t know about you, but my job doesn’t really let me access my creative side. I love my job because it does require me to use my brain, just not creatively. Therefore I need to find other ways to let me get it out or I will explode. So without further adieu here are 6 ways to let your creativity out.

This blog is probably the main way for me to be creative. It allows me to create content that people may or maynot want to read. The blog also allows me to use the left side of my brain with the analytics. So this blog is really a big factor when it comes to letting my creativity out.

I have a small pad of watercolor paper in my desk next to me. You never know when an idea will hit. I don’t paint too often, but every so often I just get the urge to put some music on and paint. this just allows me to get weird and do things very un-perfect.

a picture of a painted half an avocado. There is a darker green outline that fades into a yellow. At the centre of the half is a brown pit. THis avocado has been painted with watercolor.
My favorite thing I have painted, a half an avocado.

|Moving furniture around|

I have done this since I was a kid. Literally every month I would change my bedroom around and give it a good clean. This would always satisfy my soul like you would not believe. it allowed me to get creative in ways that the furniture could be moved and placed. As an adult my bedroom doesn’t get moved around because my bed it too big to do that. however my office is another story. It isn’t changing every month but probably every 6 months.

This one I have not super delved into completely. I bought myself a “fancy” camera for my birthday a few years ago and really just started learning with it a year ago. I do have some big plans to take photos with it though just need it to be a bit warmer.

I love scrolling pinterest and finding things that I can re-create or build. I really like building things. For example I am building my partner and I advent calendars, and I plan on building our patio furniture. Look out work this grl has a power drill and she is not afraid to use it!

This one is not as big of a release but I do believe that it does help. When reading fiction books, I create a little world in my brain. I have characters picks out and how I think the landscape looks based off what the author described. The one thing that sucks about this is when the book gets made into a movie and the character doesn’t look like what you imagined.

This has happened to me a few times but the one that really impacted me was Sirius Black from Harry Potter. I had him imagined as Viggo Mortensen but as Aragorn from the Lord of the Rings Movies. I will insert a picture for reference.

a picture of the actor Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn. He had kind of greasy brown hair with a slight wave to it. He has a confused stern face like someone told him bad news and he is wearing dark clothing with a green cape.

This one is the newest of ways to let my creativity out. I have pretty much started making my own clothing last fall. Now I am full blown loving it. I cannot wait to find new patterns and get fabric. Honestly fabricland is like a candy store for me… keep me out. I do plan on making my own jeans at some point so keep your eyes peeled to see if that turns into a disaster or not πŸ˜‰.

Well there you have it 6 ways to let your creativity out, or I guess 6 ways I let my creativity out that you might relate to! Let me know how you let your creativity out! I am always wanting to try new things and love to learn!

Until next time,
